The EXPFLEX Plastic-Type Piston Valve is a pressure-driven air-actuated flow control element (valve) designed to automatically control, start, or completely stop the flow of liquids, gases, air, and steam in industrial plants. While the body structure is generally manufactured from stainless steel, the actuator head that manages the valve is made of durable plastic material.
What Does It Do?
This valve serves to open and close the fluid passing through the pipeline to which it is connected in a very fast and leak-proof manner. Compared to classic solenoid valves, it offers higher sealing performance, operates without difficulty in larger lines, and is not easily affected by sedimented or dirty fluids.
What Is It For?
  • Textile and Dyehouses: Used in chemical dye and hot water lines.

How Does It Work?
EXPFLEX plastic-type piston valves generally operate on a Pneumatic Single-Acting Normally Closed principle:
  1. Closed Position: When no external air signal is supplied to the system, a strong spring mechanism inside the valve presses the piston downward. The sealing gasket at the tip of the piston closes the passage channel and the flow stops.
  2. Opening Process: External compressed air is sent to the air inlet located on the plastic head of the valve.
  3. Piston Movement: The incoming compressed air overcomes the internal spring force and pushes the piston upward. When the piston rises, the line opens completely and the fluid begins to pass freely.
  4. Re-closing: When the air coming to the plastic head is cut off and the internal air is discharged, the internal spring pushes the piston back to its original downward position, and the valve closes automatically.
